TCM Doctor and Qigong Master

Dr. Sara Chung started practicing acupuncture from a very young age under her father’s guidance and studied over nine years at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM), which is recognized as one of the most prestigious Traditional Chinese Medicine universities in China and one of the few TCM universities worldwide recognized by the World Health Organization. Dr. Sara Chung also belongs to the longstanding lineage of Dr. Oliver Chung, who was the pioneer in the introduction of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Mexico in the 70’s. Dr. Chung makes great emphasis on Acupuncture and Qigong and Internal Martial Arts as part of Traditional Chinese Medocome.


With over ten years of experience in China, Dr. Chung has had the opportunity of studying under the most prominent TCM doctors and Qigong healers in the country. As student of Grandmaster Xu Mingtang, founder of the Kundawell Institute and creator of Image Medicine, as well as Master Olga Smirnova, Dr. Chung has practice and integrated ZY Qigong’s Medicine.. Moreover, under the teachings of her closest Master Liu Xuyang, Dr. Chung has become an initiated practitioner of the Sixth Generation of Bagua Zhang and through this lineage has integrated Qigong Shierlianshou into her teachings and as well as clinical healing. Qigong Shierlianshou is characterized by integrating the physical anatomy as well as the energy meridians of the body, it pursues health of body and mind in synchrony with the Universe and harmony with Nature.

Dr. Sara Chung graduated from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine with a Medical Degree in Acupuncture, Moxibustion, and Tuina, and has completed her clinical practices at  China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Wangjing Hospital and Huguosi Hospital in Beijing.

During her years in China Dr. Chung often collaborated with the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM), participating as one of their mail clinical and theoretical translators. Additionally, she has been invited to perform demonstrations and share her experience in the Chinese Medicine or Qigong field in different medias like Beijing Television’s “Beijing Guest”, “Health Hall”, China Radio International, Confucius Institute China Culture Centre and others.

Since returning to Mexico, Dr. Chung founded her own private practice, WiseHand Acupuncture, initially located in the downtown area of Los Cabos. In 2024, she joined forces with Neurospine Clinic, where WiseHand Acupuncture is now located, expanding the scope of her clinical practice to align with a multidisciplinary approach. More recently, Dr. Chung opened a second, separate space dedicated to WiseHand Community Acupuncture, a new location designed to make high-quality acupuncture care accessible to people across all socioeconomic backgrounds, broadening the reach of her practice beyond the private model.

Her native language is Spanish, Dr. Sara Chung also speaks fluent English, Chinese Mandarin and Cantonese.
